What is Pupillary Distance (PD)?

Pupillary Distance is the space between the centres of your pupils. This measurement ensures your prescription lenses are positioned correctly in your frames.

It’s often abbreviated as PD, and it's important for lens accuracy. You can measure your PD yourself in just a few simple steps. We recommend removing your glasses before starting.

How to Measure Your PD Yourself:

  1. Stand in front of a mirror and hold a ruler flat against the bridge of your nose.
  2. Close your left eye and line up the 0mm mark with the centre of your right pupil.
  3. Open your left eye and look straight ahead.
  4. See which number lines up with the centre of your left pupil — that’s your PD in millimetres.
  5. Repeat a few times to ensure you’ve got an accurate result.

 If someone is helping you:

They should hold the ruler just above your eyes and measure the distance between the centres of both pupils, in millimetres.

Once you've measured your PD, you're ready to buy glasses online.
